My name is Rodney Faulkner, I am married to Sharon and we have 3 children, Alex age 15, Tyson age 12 and Zara age 8. We moved to Christchurch in 2005 to open Canterbury Rides Motorcycles Ltd.
My motorcycle background like most started when I was a young teenager and led to a trade as a motorcycle engineer, once I completed my trade certificate training I moved from Gisborne to Tauranga to continue in the trade with Jet skis and bikes, then onto seven years with Mount Motorcycles as the BMW motorcycle service technician. After 15 years in this industry and the loss of my parents I decided to have a complete change and joined the building industry.
During this brake I continued to keep in touch with the developments to motorcycles in the hope to be once again being involved.
I currently don't own a bike but enjoy riding both dirt and road. Due to the current economic climate Sharon and I decided to close Canterbury Rides. This was a very hard decision.
I am now employed by Jeff Gray BMW and Mini Christchurch who has taken on the BMW Motorrad range on board. This is another new chapter in my life that I look forward to.
